East Fife host bottom side Albion with several players battling illness.
Assistant manager Gordon Chisholm will check on the health of Darren McCormack, David Muir and Paul McManus, who have all missed training this week.
Craig Johnstone is still out injured as Chisholm remains in charge with manager Gordon Durie also unwell.
The Methil number two has brought in Scott Smith and Jordan Forster on loan from Hibernian.
He said: "Last weekend we only started playing when we were two goals down and you cannot afford to do that.
"We only have a small squad so it is good to get fresh faces in against an Albion side that will be desperate to get their first points of the season."
Albion hope to include Darrian MacKinnon in their squad.
Boss Todd Lumsden has enquired about bringing in the Hamilton striker on-loan as Rovers look for their first goals and first points of the season.
The indications are that the former Clydebank junior will be on the team bus to New Bayview alongside Tony Stevenson, who is available after a four-game ban.
Goalkeeper Chris McCluskey is out after back surgery with Ryan McWilliams recalled from his loan spell at East Stirling to replace him.
Elsewhere Mick O'Byrne, Kevin Green and Alan Reid are all struggling with knocks.
