Problems mount for Brown
East Fife manager Billy Brown has ruled out five players for the visit of Arbroath with Michael Brown, Darren McCormack, Stevie Campbell, Paul McManus and Gareth Wardlaw all injured.
Jordan Forster could return after injury and striker Liam Gormley is included after signing for the club following a scoring debut as a trialist in last Saturday's 3-0 win over Albion Rovers.
Brown said: "They will come here boosted by an injury-time winner over Stranraer and it was great that we got that win, but our lack of numbers is hampering our plans to build on it.
"Arbroath are a good footballing side but we can't stand back and let them pass the ball about, we have to impose our game on them."
Arbroath have a fully-fit and suspension-free squad for the trip, with manager Paul Sheerin promising an adventurous approach to the game.
Sheerin said: "We have tried a few different things this season but one thing that has remained constant is that my team prefer to attack and that is what we will do at East Fife.
"We will go out and try to win 3-2 as opposed to sitting back and trying to sneak a 1-0 win and then losing the game as we had invited pressure on ourselves.
"Our win over Stranraer in midweek came late but it was very welcome after three defeats in a row and means that we go into this game on a real high."
