East Fife V Stenhousemuir at Bayview Stadium - Match Preview

Smith joins fellow crocked Fifers

East Fife midfielder Darren Smith has been added to his side's injury list for the game against a Stenhousemuir side that beat them 3-0 with only 10 men earlier in the season.

Smith sustained a knock against Ayr last weekend and joins Michael Brown, Darren McCormack, Gareth Wardlaw and Paul McManus in the treatment room.

Recently-appointed manager Billy Brown said: "It would be great to go into Christmas with a win, especially one over a good side in Stenhousemuir.

"We won at Ayr last Saturday without being great and lost in midweek to Stranraer in a game we dominated.

"I actually want us to play like we did against Stranraer, but take our chances. If we do that then we can see off Stenhousemuir."

Stenhousemuir will be without Eric Paton due to an ankle injury and he joins John Gemmell on the sidelines.

Kevin McKinlay is suspended and full-back Greg Ross is doubtful, but there was some good news for the Warriors as Andy Rodgers has returned to contention after a knee injury.

Assistant manager Kevin McGoldrick is under no illusions after East Fife's 1-0 defeat to Stranraer in midweek.

McGoldrick said: "From the reports we got on the game we know that East Fife created lots of chances and were extremely unlucky to lose.

"They also showed a great spirit to come back from two goals down to win at Ayr last weekend and this is shaping up like a really tough game."
