Fifers on the up
East Fife climbed off the bottom of League One with a 1-0 win at home to Airdrieonians.
Scott McBride scored the only goal of the game after 11 minutes, with a deflected left-footed effort from the edge of the box that squeezed past Scott Gallagher.
Pat Clarke unleashed a sweet strike which crashed off the post after 32 minutes, but the Diamonds defence were able to scramble it away.
The Fifers could have taken the lead from the resulting corner when Gary Thom's header hit the bar then bounced on the goal line, with referee Kevin Graham ruling the ball had not crossed the line.
East Fife came close to adding a second in injury time when Liam Buchanan's shot ricocheted off the bar.
