Wee Rovers edge clear
Albion moved five points clear of automatic relegation with a 2-1 victory over play-off chasing East Fife.
The Fifers could have moved level on points with fourth-placed Airdrie with a win, but failed to recover after falling 2-0 behind before half-time.
Albion took the lead through Scott Chaplain's smart left-footed finish in the 14th minute, the midfielder's eighth goal of the season.
The away side doubled their lead five minutes before the break as John Gemmell met Ryan McStay's right-wing free-kick with a thumping header from 12 yards out.
East Fife eventually pulled one back in the 82nd minute as David Muir turned in Scott Dalziel's cross from close range.
But the home side failed to grab an equaliser to boost their play-off aspirations.
Albion remain in the relegation play-off place following Forfar's victory.
